See Some of the Wonderful Art Pieces from Loveland’s 2026 ‘Sculpture in the Park’

Every summer Colorado's town that is famous for sculptures, hosts one of the biggest sculpture shows around. Loveland's "Sculpture in the Park," at Benson Sculpture Garden. Hundreds come to town to show their works, and thousands come to purchase works.

How Long has 'Sculpture in the Park' Been Happening in Loveland?

"Sculpture in the Park" in Loveland dates back to the mid 1980s having started in 1984; local sculpting legend, George Walbye, helped to spearhead the project. I would have loved to have been sitting at whichever bar George and others were at when it all started coming together; maybe it was The Black Steer, which existed back then and is still open today.

There are a lot of folks in Northern Colorado that make a plan to just avoid the area for the weekend that "Sculpture in the Park" and "Art in the Park" (at North Lake Park) is going on; they don't want to deal with all the people and traffic. I think it's a Loveland treasure, and gives the city a chance to shine on a national level for something other than Valentine's Day.

One of the things that I discovered at the 2026 event, is the "Piece of the Park" tent, where inside you found small versions of installed pieces there at Benson Sculpture Garden. Most of those were still priced well out of my range, but they were interesting to see.

I spent about an hour walking from tent to tent on the final day of the 2026 event; I'm sure many people go not only on Saturday/Sunday of "Sculpture in the Park' for $10, but to the $100 Patron Party on the Friday night before, as well.
