When Something Weird Happens on This Colorado Road, It’s Not a Big Surprise

It's a sad state of affairs when we hear about something "going down" on Mulberry Street in Fort Collins, that we just shrug it off.

In July of 2024, an SUV careened into a room of a hotel that's on East Mulberry, adding to the long list of crazy things that have happened in that area. Luckily, no one was injured.

Mulberry is a major road leading into Fort Collins off of I-25; though the city continues to try and improve that area, it's sill the same old "East Mulberry."

Ask just about anybody who lives in Fort Collins or Northern Colorado, and they'll tell you that East Mulberry is part of town to be cautious about; there's just "something" about the road that brings trouble.

East Mulberry Street in Fort Collins Has Issues

It seems like there's always some strange/crazy/criminal activity on East Mulberry; in May of 2023 for example, a man barricaded himself in the ceiling of the Waffle House on that road. Another example came in July of 2024, when an SUV careened into a hotel room:

The more of these things that happen, including shootings, drugs, sex trafficking, the more the people of the area are concerned, but also nonplussed when we hear of something happening: "Well, that's East Mulberry for you..."

The City of Fort Collins, the Fort Collins Police Department and the Larimer County Sheriff's Office all do continue to monitor crime activity along East Mulberry, which is reassuring; but you can't monitor for everything, all the time.
