Fall in Colorado not only means the changing of the leaves and things getting cooler, it also means Halloween and Trick-Or-Treating events in the Fort Collins area.
How Far Does 'Trick-Or-Treating' Go Back in the USA?
According to SmithsonianMag.com, though the premise of getting treats from strangers in exchange for not pulling some "stunt" goes back centuries ago to Europe, "Trick-Or-Treating" became coined in the U.S. in Michigan in the late 1920s. Over 100 years later, kids of all ages across America have fun getting costumed up and having fun.
There are a couple of "Trunk-Or-Treat" events on the 2025 list for Northern Colorad
From Berthoud to Windsor, Northern Colorado has a "spooky" 13 'Trick-or-Treat' events for kids and kids of all ages. I think we all love to don a costume, now and then, and Halloween is a great way to "lose yourself" while the kids get some fun and candy.

Trick-Or-Treating has certainly changed over the decades; whereas we used to hit the neighborhood streets for candy and fun, today it's more about community gatherings where kids can Trick-Or-Treat safely, with other kids. It makes it easier in a lot of ways, especially when it comes to the thought of drudging through the snowy neighborhood, as it's bound to snow around Halloween.

A lot of these events become family traditions; little kids become parents and take their own little kids out for a day of candy, costumes, and fun.
