Thousands Expected for Great 2026 Field of Honor in Fort Collins
While many in Colorado celebrate the unofficial kickoff to summer over Memorial Day weekend, people will also head to Fort Collins to celebrate those we honor and remember on Memorial Day.
Where Does 'Field of Honor' Take Place in Fort Collins, Colorado?
The annual 'Field of Honor' event is held at Fort Collins' Spring Canyon Park, west of Taft Hill Road on Horsetooth Road. The park features a "stone giant" that folklore says is a giant that was slain by a tomahawk. Each Memorial Day Weekend, the park does honor those U.S. Servicemembers that have also fallen in battle.
The 2026 'Field of Honor' Will be Part of America's 250th Birthday
Not only will 'Field of Honor' be displaying 500 3' x 5' U.S. Flags to honor the country's heroes: active military, veterans, first responders, community leaders, teachers and other personal heroes, it will also celebrate America's 250th. The display will also feature The Declaration of Independence and the 26 historic flags that have been used since 1776.
With 2026 being Colorado's 150th birthday, 'Field of Honor' will also be displaying the current Colorado state flag along with any other State flags that have been used since Statehood.
When Exactly Will the 'Field of Honor' Be in Fort Collins?
The 'Field of Honor' will be at Spring Canyon Park from 9:00 a.m. on Friday May 23rd until 3:00 p.m. on Memorial Day. The Fort Collins Breakfast Rotary, sponsor of the event, urges people to visit during daylight hours, when Rotary members will be present to help.
