Just about everyone knows that the Colorado Rockies are not a great baseball team. Everyone would also agree that the star of the show is Coors Field.

Coors Field has many eating and drinking options, including its historic Sandlot Brewery. It's only open during the baseball season, but it's a must-visit if you want to say you've had a beer at a historic Colorado brewery.

Coors Field's historic brewery isn't far from Colorado's oldest brewer, Tivoli Brewery, which dates back to 1864.

Have you taken a day to stop at a few Denver breweries to kill a Saturday? It can be a lot fun.  Tivoli and The Sandlot are still on my own list of places to check out.

Coors Field's Sandlot Brewery is Historic

When Coors Field opened in 1995, not only did the Colorado Rockies have an official home, The Sandlot Brewery opened with it, brewing that tasty Blue Moon Belgian-Style White Wheat beer.

Think about this: anytime you order or buy a Blue Moon, you can say,

It's historic, you know..

The Sandlot Brewery is historic in the fact that it was the the first brewery to be located inside of a Major League Baseball stadium.

When is The Sandlot Brewery Open?

Spring baseball brings another opening day, the day that The Sandlot opens. Their taproom is only open during the season, and only Rockies ticket holders can access the taproom.

Honestly, I could easily see a day of buying a ticket and not seeing any of the game, so you might find me at The Sandlot.
