Major Closure of Road Could Snarl Traffic in Windsor for Weeks
If you live or work in Windsor, Colorado, chances are you may be affected by an upcoming road construction project. Thousands of vehicles pass through the intersection every day in this Northern Colorado town and I am one of those people who use this intersection on a daily basis. Windsor is a rapidly growing town in Colorado and with the growth comes the growing pains of updating the town's roadways to accommodate the traffic.
The Town of Windsor announced that the road construction will bring some pretty intense delays to those who travel in this area. Starting Wednesday, July 17, the intersection at 7th Street and Walnut Street will be closed heading southbound at Main Street. Northbound traffic on 7th Street will not be closed for travel, but that does not mean that it won't be delayed due to the construction.
7th Street Road Construction in Windsor, Colorado
The construction project is going to bring improvements to the intersection for all pedestrians, bicyclists, and motorists of 7th Street and Walnut Street according to the Town of Windsor. This construction project is only part one of the work on the intersection. A water line replacement and a roundabout is coming to the intersection, but will not start until 2025.
