
These Are the Free National Park Days in Colorado for 2026
Living in Northern Colorado is great because we are only a few short miles from what could be argued as one of the greatest national parks in the nation. The idea that you can get in your car and drive to Rocky Mountain National Park is something that none of us take for granted.
Rocky Mountain National Park is special, and people from all over the world come to Colorado just to see its natural beauty. Colorado also has three other national parks that shouldn't be overlooked either. The Black Canyon of the Gunnison, Mesa Verde, and the Great Sand Dunes are all great options for a road trip any time of the year.

If you would like to get into these Colorado national parks for free, there are certain days you can take advantage of not paying the price of admission. All of the free entry days to national parks nationwide all coincide with observed holidays in the United States.

- Memorial Day - May 25, 2026
- Flag Day - June 14, 2026
- Independence Day Weekend (July 3-5, 2026)
- 110th Birthday of the National Park Service - August 25, 2026
- Constitution Day - September 17, 2026
- Theodore Roosevelt's Birthday - October 27, 2026
- Veteran's Day - November 11, 2026
Important Entry Reservation Reminders
United States residents will be able to gain access to the greatest national parks on these days without paying a fee. Keep in mind, national parks such as Rocky Mountain National Park do have timed entry reservations in certain seasons. These reservations will still need to be made to gain access to specific parks.
