Workers repairing a sewer line discovered bones during the excavation in the backyard of a home located in the 1000 block of west 29th Street in Cheyenne, Wyoming. According to Cap City News, the Cheyenne Police Department made an announcement of the remains being found on April 21 at around 6:30 p.m.

Further investigation deemed that no foul play was involved and that home appeared to be built on a burial site in 1871. The remains have been taken into possession by Laramie County Coroner's Office and Wyoming State Anthropologists.
