It's time for defenders of the Confederate flag in South Carolina to face the music.

Matt Buck decided to protest a march in support of the flag by playing his sousaphone while the protesters walked in Columbia.

The sousaphone sounds like a tuba, so the contrast between the marchers and the funny sound of the instrument made for an amusing sight.

Why did Buck do it? He told the Charleston City Paper, "I didn't really know how to show my opposition, so that was my way of doing it."

The flag has been removed from the capitol, a move which happened swiftly following a mass shooting in Charleston last month.

Many people object to the flag's removal, claiming it represents their heritage instead of serving as a reminder of racism.

It looks like, in this instance, the protest hit all the wrong notes.
