Word on the street is Christl is a super-nice guy and likes to chit-chat. Somehow I've never encountered him when hiking the Incline. How do I know I've never seen him? Well, from what I hear, he likes to walk back down the Incline.

If you run into Christl be sure to cheer him on. I climb Manitou Incline once per year, always on my birthday, and let me tell you, it's a killer. In my mind, conquering this mountain once a year is an achievement. The thought of climbing it two to three times per day is inconceivable.
