Are you ready to fire up the family wagon and enjoy some quality time at the Colorado National Monument? Your chance to visit at a discounted price, namely FREE, is coming up.

Happy 100th birthday National Park Service! To celebrate, there will be 10 days in 2017 where you can visit a park for free. As of April, two such days have already come and gone. That's okay, there are still eight left, and a couple of them are right around the corner.
The remaining entrance fee-free days for 2017 are:
  • April 15 & 16
  • April 22 & 23
  • August 25 (National Park Service birthday)
  • September 30 (National Public Lands Day)
  • November 11 & 12 (Veterans Day)
What comes with free entrance into the parks? The fee waiver includes:
  • entrance fees
  • commercial tour fees
  • transportation entrance fees
Things which are NOT free include:
  • camping
  • tours
  • concessions
  • reservation
  • fees collected by third parties
Is it possible to get free admission to a national park 365 days a year? Some people can. Here's a list of those who are eligible:
  • active duty military
  • citizens with permanent disabilities
  • any 4th-grade student (via the Every Kid in a Park program)
Get out and visit the Colorado National Monument, or for that matter any national park, for free! There are still several free days left in 2017, so use them or lose them.
