Do you feel safe in your town? As someone who's lived in Fort Collins for ten years now, I've been lucky to have positive living experiences when it comes to my safety. No one is completely protected from crime, unfortunately— every city has its incidents reported— but when you're looking for a new home this summer, there are five top towns that you should really pay attention to.

The 7th annual "20 Safest Cities in Colorado" list from SafeWise has officially been released, and it's time to look at which areas of our beautiful state are worth a second look at when thinking about new real estate.

Overall, SafeWise reported that Coloradans aren't as concerned about their safety as other states, which is huge: In fact, the most concerning things here are porch pirates.

Yeah, I get that.

It's important to note that crime does happen here and if you ever feel in danger, rely on local law enforcement or reach out to close contacts, family and friends. However, it's nice to see these great cities reaching the top of the list for least amount of crime and working hard to keep their citizens comfortable about where they live.
