The spawn of Speidi is (almost) officially upon us: Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, who rose to fame as villains of The Hillsannounced they're having a baby, an experience Pratt likened to being excited for baked goods.

The couple, who have been married for eight years, reflected on learning they'd be parents in an interview with Us Weekly, and Pratt says Montag's delivery of the news changed his life completely. He shared that on a recent morning, he woke up and found Montag "just standing there," and then:

“The look on her face, I can’t even describe it. She was literally glowing," he said. "I thought she was about to say she made muffins or banana bread."

“Heidi said, ‘I’m pregnant,’ ” he added. “I was like, ‘Whoa, that’s way more exciting than banana bread!’"

Montag, who's due in October, said “I started crying, and he embraced me,” and added that though she's had some pretty brutal morning sickness, she can't wait to be a mom — she's been talking about having a kid since her days on MTV.

"Every time I feel awful, I remember why and I’m just euphoric," she said. "It’s so fulfilling, and I’m mostly just grateful. I’ve been with the love of my life for 10 years, and now we’re starting our own family."

Montag joins former Hills co-stars Whitney Port and Lauren Conrad, who both recently announced pregnancies, in the moms-to-be club.
