A brand new grocery delivery service is coming to Grand Junction starting next week.

For those that despise the idea of going to the grocery store, this is just what you've been waiting for. However, you might want to proceed cautiously.

Instacart, the largest on-demand grocery delivery service in the country, is coming to the Grand Valley on February 8 and will be delivering groceries from Grand Junction to Palisade. Personal shoppers fill your order and deliver groceries right to your door.

It sounds pretty simple. You go to their website or mobile app, select the groceries you want, a personal shopper responds, and you wait for your groceries at the designated time.

Sounds great, but not everybody is happy about doing their grocery shopping via Instacart as you can see at sitejabber.com. The reviews are mostly negative.

Instacart utilizes local "personal shoppers" who do the shopping, so the quality of service may vary. While there is an initial free trial period, after that there is a charge of $14.99 per month, or $149 a year.

Instacart started in 2012 in San Francisco and is now in 200 markets nationwide.

If you do try it, I urge you to exercise caution and regardless of whether or not your experience was good or bad, let us know so we can pass along the information.
