Grand Junction's "new" science museum is holding a grand opening this weekend.

The John McConnell Math and Science Center has been educating kids in the most fun ways possible for nearly 20 years. It's now called Eureka! McConnell Science Museum and continuing the quest to teach kids about science through hands-on demonstrations and exhibits in a brand new location.

The science center has reached more than 60,000 kids since 2000 and shows no signs of slowing down. The center has a new home and they would like everyone to come see it.The new location is 13,000 square feet in the recently constructed Colorado Mesa University Engineering building on the west side of campus along 7th Avenue. The address is 1400 N. 7th Street.

You are going to find more than150 exhibits that kids and adults alike will love. From astronomy and zoology to physics and biology, Eureka! makes learning fun and exciting.

A Grand Opening event is planned for this Saturday, March 10 from 10am-6pm, and there will be no admission charge. Visitors may park in the CMU lots on Elm and on Kennedy Ave.
