Grand Junction Tax Filers Have Until Midnight Tonight To File

Today is the day! Tax Day. If you have not got your taxes filed for this year, you have until midnight. 

Normally tax day is April 15th, but this year thanks to Washington Emancipation Day, the IRS allowed all taxpayers until today to get everything filed. For someone like me, this is a good thing. But today is the last day!

You have until midnight tonight to get your taxes postmarked. If not you may face penalties and additional interest based on your income.

Extensions can be filed, however, those need to be done by tonight as well. If you are on time however and are ready to file, a few tips that will ensure you get your refund faster include:

Using direct deposit, and sure that when you're doing your taxes that you are using a company you can trust, regardless if it is in person or online. Also, be sure do check your math, just like they told us in school, and check all the important information like addresses, social security numbers, bank account information. 

Remember, that even the most simple mistake can get your tax return rejected by the IRS. So double check your work, and good luck!
