
Grand Junction School Unveils New Solar-Powered Charging Station
Take a look at this Grand Junction middle school's new solar-powered charging station.
West Middle School in Grand Junction has just unveiled something extremely cool - a solar-powered charging station. The new solar-powered charging station was just unveiled today, Thursday, May 20, 2021.

The middle school's new charging station is in the perfect spot too - it's in the outdoor school commons area. According to Mesa County Valley School District 51's Facebook, the cell phone charging station even has tables and chairs so students can take a seat and still use their phone while it's charging.
West Middle School's solar-powered charging station has solar panels above the station which generate the power. We can honestly say we've never charged my phone using a solar panel before. (In middle school, we didn't even have a cellphone.) We think this is a great addition for West Middle School and think it will definitely be put to good use.
The solar-powered charging station at this Grand Junction middle school has been dedicated to a former teacher, Heidi Ragsdale. According to Mesa County Valley School District 51's Facebook, Heidi was a former teacher at West Middle School and 'a proud advocate of the MESA (Math, Engineering, Science Achievement) Club for D51 middle and high school students.
West Middle School in Grand Junction was able to get this solar-powered cellphone charging station thanks to numerous organizations. We have so much sunshine in Grand Junction it only makes sense to put it to good use.
