This Grand Junction Box Store Now Carries the Hard Stuff

The next time you head to this Grand Junction store to purchase a lifetime supply of paper towels, stop by this new section and pick up a Jack Daniel's Family Fun-Pack.

While shopping at Sam's Club at 1040 Independent Avenue in Grand Junction, I was surprised to find an all new aisle located near the back of the store. Looking back, I seem to remember this section stocking Foam Cup Apocalypse Packs and 1,000-pack plastic plates.

What's changed?

This section is now home to wine, bourbon, tequila, and other adult beverages in every color of the rainbow.

When did this happen?

It couldn't have been very long ago. Just a few weeks ago I was at Sam's Club stocking up on Pop Tarts and tires for my car, and I would swear the booze aisle wasn't there.

You'll find the selection pretty much encompasses the "basics" when it comes to adult beverages. Products include:

Are the prices competitive?

I have no idea. I rarely purchase alcoholic products other than wine, and that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

How about the wine?

The wine selection is excellent. As a matter of fact, the Sam's Club selection features "higher shelf" brands compared to what I typically buy. Yes, my tastes include wines which typically pour directly from a cardboard box.

Do they carry a large supply?

The supply of adult beverages compares to other products you'll find in a members-only retail warehouse; they stock them by the pallet. Check out the racks loaded with pallets of Jack Daniels. They go almost all the way to the ceiling.

You can now stock up on everything, as in... everything.

The next time you head to Sam's Club to prepare for the zombie apocalypse, you'll be able to replenish your depository with everything from a five-gallon drum of canola oil to a ten-year supply of Members Mark Vodka. This truly is your one-stop-shop.
