‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ Teaser Gathers a Bunch of A-Holes ’Round the Campfire
FYI dudes, a new Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 trailer is premiering tomorrow night on Jimmy Kimmel Live! (that guy sure is having a good week), and even though it’s only a day and some change away, Marvel has generously offered up a short teaser for James Gunn’s highly-anticipated sequel. In addition to showing off what appears to be the space-equivalent of a campfire, the new sneak peek reveals our first look at the return of Nebula, played by Karen Gillan.
But this time around, Nebula is playing for the Guardians’ team (seen above suffering through Drax’s obnoxious eating habits), aligning with her former foes — and her sister, Gamora — in their quest to stop a new villain:
Set to the backdrop of Awesome Mixtape #2, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team’s adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill’s true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes’ aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand.
Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper reprise their roles for the sequel, which also introduces Kurt Russell as Ego the Living Planet (aka Star-Lord’s dad), Pom Klementieff as Mantis, and Elizabeth Debicki as the villainous Ayesha.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hits theaters on May 5.
