Glenwood Springs: 7th U.S. City 100% Powered By Renewable Energy
Glenwood Springs will soon be the 7th city in the United States that is 100% powered by renewable energy. Glenwood Springs is going to be almost completely powered by the wind.
Now Glenwood Springs will be 100% renewable. The city will be running almost completely on wind power, with the exception of 6.8% from hydroelectric renewable power. The contract was signed today, May 29.
Mayor Jonathan Godes stated:
We are very excited to announce that Glenwood Springs will soon be operated on one hundred percent renewable electricity. Many cities and towns around the country have set aggressive targets, and we are doing our part now -- our future is now.
This means that yes, Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park will also be running on nothing but renewable energy. Which makes Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park one of the first theme parks 100% run on renewable energy in the country, according to Vail Daily.
Hopefully, cheaper electric bills will be in the future for Glenwood Springs residents.
