Fans attending the Grand Junction Rockies game on June 29 at Suplizio Field will be seeing pink.

The theme for the evening will be Breast Cance Awareness, as the Rockies partner with Community Hospital. The Rockies players will be wearing pink jerseys which will be auctioned off after the game, with proceeds going to Grand Valley Oncology.

The reason we are talking about this now is that the jerseys have to be created, and these are going to be very special. Fans have the opportunity to purchase space on the jersey for the name of a loved one who is battling or has battled breast cancer.

Each namespace is available for $20 each and includes four reserved tickets to that evening's game. The deadline to purchase a namespace is April 30 or until the namespaces are full.

I would expect this will sell out pretty quickly, so you should probably act fast if you want to participate and purchase a namespace. Just call the Grand Junction Rockies at 970-255-7625.
