We all know this school year has been difficult for everyone from teachers to administrators and parents. And to had even more stress to this already difficult situation as we continue to battle through this pandemic, there are many families that struggle to have enough food to get through the week. That's why it's fantastic to hear from KKCO that thanks to the United States Department of Agriculture all District-51 students will have access to free school meals through the rest of the 2020/2021 school year.

This includes not only lunches but also breakfast meals that are available at no charge to all students regardless of their household income. While District-51 is excited to continue with this free food program they are encouraging all families to check their student's cafeteria balance through the ParentVUE program to see if there are any charges that still might be owed from prior school years or items purchased earlier this year.

If you're interested or know a student who is knowing more about this program you can check the school food menu here. If you're looking for additional meal resources, click here.

Don't feel bad if you're in need of some assistance right now, you're not alone. There are thousands of families all around our community that are trying to struggle through this very difficult time. But please don't let anyone in your family go hungry. If you need assistance there is help available, just reach out and ask for it. We will be sure to let you know if this food assistance continues on through this current school year.
