Fort Collins Police re-tweeted a crazy story from Colorado Parks and Wildlife with a attached warning Thursday. They are reminding residents, "Do not pick up bobcats and put them in your car..."

Colorado Parks and Wildlife SE region spurred the warning after they sent out a tweet about a woman in Colorado Springs who picked up an injured bobcat and put it in the car. The tweet went on to say the bobcat was "in the car where her child was seated." It is not clear how the animal was injured. CPW said in a follow up tweet that they "removed the bobcat, which was mortally wounded."

There are instances when people pick up injured or orphaned wildlife. If this does occur, call the Colorado Parks and Wildlife. It is illegal to attempt to rehabilitate injured or orphaned wildlife without state and federal permits.
