Former Orchard Mesa Bank Building Gets Permanent Tenant
A vacant building on Orchard Mesa is getting a permanent tenant.
The building on the corner of 27 Road and Highway 50 used to house the Bank of Orchard Mesa from 1975 until the late 80s. Most recently, it was a call center for Choice Hotels before being purchased by Family Health West. Now, it's going to be a church.
Work is underway to transition the structure into a suitable facility for Crosspoint Church, which has been gathering near 28 1/2 Road and B Road for the past four years.
In recent weeks, volunteers have been seen working inside and outside to get the building ready to hold its first service. The Crosspoint sign went up on the building this week. An exact move-in date has not been set, but we are told that the first church service will be held there in the coming weeks.
Crosspoint Church is affiliated with the Assemblies of God, the largest Pentecostal denomination in the world with some 70 million members in 212 countries. The church is pastored by Greg Farmer, a graduate of Delta High School.
