St. Patrick's Day is almost here, and for those who have never tried to make their own corned beef and cabbage at home, here's an easy slow cooker recipe for you to try this weekend.

I can't say I have ever made corned beef and cabbage. But, I have eaten corned beef and cabbage, minus the cabbage. You see, cooked cabbage goes against the Zane Mathews Rules for Food. But, I realize that this is a wildly popular dish, especially here around St. Patrick's Day, so at the very least I can talk about it, even if I have no plans to eat it.

It seems like a lot of people who crave this so-called delicacy go out to one of the many restaurants serving up corned beef and cabbage. Maybe it's because they just don't want the hassle, or maybe it's because they just don't know how to do it.

Either way, thanks to our friends at allrecipes.com, we have an easy slow cooker corned beef and cabbage recipe that I think even I could do.

Watch the brief video and then go here to allrecipes.com to see the companion recipe. Give it a shot and let us know if it is in fact as easy it looks. Oh, and we would sure like to know if it's any good as well.

If you have a hankering for some good corned beef and cabbage but don't want to make it  yourself, come to our Party on the Patio at Boston's this Saturday from noon until 5:00.
