Three poor dogs were dumped in the past two days near Montrose. The Montrose County Sheriff's Office is reminding everyone that dumping animals is illegal.

I can't imagine driving somewhere, opening the car door, dumping out my pets and then just driving off. That's what Animal Control believes happened near Montrose -- more than once. Three dogs were dumped around 90 Road near the base of the Uncompahgre Plateau in the past two days.

You can see there's snow in each of these pictures of the dogs and I don't understand how people could be so heartless. The area is extremely remote and obviously, these people had no concern for the well-being of their pets, which are supposed to be their best friend.

The Montrose County Sheriff's Office is reminding everyone that dumping animals is illegal and:

...if discovered (once an investigation identifies the owners) the owners will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

The Montrose County Sheriff's Office also added that if you're unable to care for your animal, please contact the Montrose Animal Shelter. I know that someone would be ecstatic to have these animals in their home and call them their own.

The sadness and confusion in these poor pups' eyes is heartbreaking. Imagine someone kicking you out of the car somewhere you don't know where you are and just leaving you there to fend for yourself and never turning back. I hope these animals get adopted and get a better owner this time around.
