There is big news from Denver International Airport this week. Both DIA and the TSA have announced they will no longer enforce the federal mask mandate on public transportation...for now.

DIA announced the news on Monday night via Twitter.

We have been informed by the TSA that they will no longer be enforcing the national mask mandate at airports. As a result, masks are no longer required at DEN and we will be removing mask signage (which might take a bit of time).

Do I Still Need a Mask If I'm Flying Through Denver International Airport

While Denver International Airport is no longer requiring passengers or staff to wear masks, travelers are still encouraged to travel with them. While Denver has done away with requiring them for now, the airport you may be traveling to might still be asking people to wear them.

Which Airlines are Dropping the Mask Requirement During Flights?

As of April 19th, the following airlines will no longer require masks on plans for now  (We could be changing all this in two weeks): Alaska Airlines, Allegiant Air, American Airlines, Delta Airlines, Frontier Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, JetBlue, Southwest, Spirit Airlines, United Airlines, Sun Country Airlines, Avelo Airlines, and Breeze airwaves. All of these carriers have said masks are now optional or not required at this time.

What is Next for Airline Passengers in America?

U.S. District Judge Kathryn Kimball Mizelle in Tampa issued the decision which says the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention had no such authority to issue the original health order the TSA directives were based on.

While some may want to celebrate, it's rather concerning what is coming next. Now you might get on a plane at an airport with no mask mandates or restrictions, but you might land in an airport that still has restrictions in place. It's still possible you could be on a plane with no mandate, yet transfer onto a plane that still has a restriction policy once you get on board. Only in America.
