13 Month Construction Project in Grand Junction Begins in May
It comes as a shock to no one in Western Colorado that we are talking about a new construction project that is set to kick off in just a few weeks is expected to wrap up in June of 2022. This is the project that will bring improvements to the intersection at Grand Avenue and 1st Street in Grand Junction.
The details were laid out by KKCO, and residents got to see a preview of what the changes will look like at an open house that took place earlier this week set up by the Colorado Department of Transportation.

What we know so far is sometime mid-May the crews will get to work in the following areas:
- Mulberry Street to Rood Avenue
- Broadway to Mulberry Street
- Rice Streets to Second Street
Drivers should expect different traffic patterns in those areas and don't be shocked if it adds a few minutes to your commute.
What Grand Junction Drivers Will Love After the Grand Junction Construction Project is Completed
The Colorado Department of Transportation is saying that once the project is done anyone traveling on these roads will have wider roads to drive on. These projects will consolidate access while revamping street connections.
