More Than 23 Thousand Colorado Vanity Plates Rejected in 2021
I always thought it would be kind of fun to have personalized license plates on my car. As it turns out, they're not all that easy to come by. According to KDVR, over 23,000 vanity license plate requests in the state of Colorado were rejected in 2021.
Some of the plates rejected were just plain odd. I am not sure who would want the personalized license plate "ACNE". Well, I suppose a dermatologist could get away with it.
Why Where These Colorado Plate Rejected?
Many factors go into the acceptance of the approval or rejection of a personalized license plate in the state of Colorado. Here are just a few reasons why a plate request may be denied:
- Offensive
- Issued to another vehicle
- Misleading
- An applicant does not have a valid address in Colorado
- Special symbols are not allowed (!, @, #, $, %)
- Too many characters (7 on vehicles, 6 on motorcycles)
- Zero is not allowed
- Application not signed
