Colorado police delivered pies to Susie Montoya on her 102nd birthday. Officers and firefighters sang happy birthday to her and hooked her up with cherry pies.

The Arvada Police Department wanted to make sure that Susie Montoya celebrated her birthday in a special way. On Susie's 102nd birthday, city employees and the police department planned a surprise for her.

They ordered cherry pies from a local business and then Detective Dave Snelling took the pies to the crime lab for processing, according to WCVB.

He cleaned the boxes while wearing a mask and gloves, prepping the pies for safe delivery. The detective coordinated with Arvada firefighters for their big surprise at Susie's house.

The Arvada Police Department and Arvada firefighters sang her happy birthday while she watched from a window upstairs. Then they handed over the cherry pies while keeping their distance of course.

According to WCVB, Detective Dave snelling said:

We're going to give out these pies all while maintaining COVID CDC standards, maintaining our distance and using proper procedures to make sure we keep this entire family safe.

He also reminded the family to wash their hands before eating the pie and declared that special day 'Susie Montoya Day.'
