Hidden Beaches In Colorado

Being a landlocked state, we don't spend too much time selling people on Colorado by telling them about our beaches.

We hook 'em with our mountains, hiking, skiing, snowboarding, pro sports, maybe even that fine Colorado herb. But beaches? Not so much.

Turns out though, even without ocean water at any edge of our state, we've got some pretty awesome beaches around Colorado. All About Colorado put together some of their favorite beaches that you may or may not have heard about or even been to.

Jackson Lake State Park, Colorado

Jackson Lake State Park is more than just a great national park to camp at, it's also ranked by Reserve America as one of the Top 15 Park Beaches in the country. This view alone would be worth the trip.

Boulder Reservoir, Colorado

A very cool spot that most people don't even realize is there. They used to hold the Polar Plunge on New Year's day and I had to jump in two different times for a radio station that tortured me, it was awful. The beach was very cool though.

Medano Creek, Colorado

Medano Creek is in the Great Sand Dunes National Park. A great place to hang on the beach, tune down the river or just enjoy the amazing views.

Boardwalk Park in Windsor, Colorado

Right in our backyard in Windsor, Colorado, but if you never come to this part of town, you may never know it even existed. I didn't know about it until maybe 6 or 7 years ago. Now it's one of my favorite places in town.

Rock Canyon Swim Beach In Pueblo, Colorado

Rock Canyon Swim Beach in Pueblo, Colorado, might be one of the town's true highlights. It's designated as a swim-only beach so it's super safe and fun for the fam.

There are many other amazing little beaches around Colorado so if you don't dig these five, there are plenty more around so surfs up, or something.
