Colorado Coffee Shop Owner Raising Money For Veterans to Go Fish
A coffee shop owner in Parker, Colorado is raising money for veterans to go fishing. Wes Crespi is planning a fundraiser to donate money to Project Healing Waters.
Wes Crespi owns Coffee Cabin in Parker, Colorado, His coffee shop is covered with pro-military stickers, signs, and flags. Now he's showing his love for the military differently.
In August Wes is hosting a fundraiser called the Coffee Cabin Salute to Heroes fundraiser. The fundraiser is on August 10 at The Barn at Rancho Vaya con Dios in Castle Rock.
Project Healing Waters takes disabled active military members and veterans out on fly fishing adventures. They also have ongoing fishing classes too. Wes's father-in-law is a Vietnam veteran with extreme PTSD. After going on a fishing adventure with Project Healing Waters, everything changed, Jim Heinrich, his father-in-law said:
When you're fly fishing, you can't think about anything but fly fishing.
Spending time in nature and focusing on that and nothing else, is almost like therapy. Coffee Cabin loves serving their military customers and now they're not only doing the fundraiser for Project Healing Waters, but they're also doing a silent auction for them too. There's everything from a cigar humidor and a weeks stay at a condo in Mexico in the silent auction.
