City Market and King Soopers are taking over the Salvation Army Red Kettles today in the largest red kettle takeover in the country. Employees of the super market chain are donating their time between 3pm and 7pm today (Dec 11) to ring the bells and help with the Salvation Army fundraising efforts.

All Mesa County City Market locations are cjoining in the effort. The Salvation Army's Major Dan Wilson appreciates the local support saying "their support has allowed us to be there for the community in so many incredible ways over the years."

City Market has it's day today to ring the bells for the campaign, while Mix 104.3 and Townsquare Media Grand Junction will take their turn on Thursday. Employees from all five Townsquare stations will be at Mesa County City Markets from 11am-1pm to ring the bells and ask listeners to support the cause.

A friendly competition between the stations to see which station can take in the most donations between 11a-1p. MIX 104.3 and ESPN Radio 1230 will be at the 24 Road location, 99.9 KEKB will be in Fruita, 95 Rock at the Clifton store, and KOOL 107.9 will be at 1st and Rood.

Dan Thomas will be ringing the bell at the 24 Road store inviting MIx listeners out to help us beat the competition, and to raise funds for our local Salvation Army.

Make sure you stop by and help our cause!
