Autobots, assemble! Over the past few days, Paramount Pictures has released new images on their Facebook page for a handful of the new autobots in Transformers: The Last Knight. While I’m certainly no stranger to animated ’80s and ’80s television shows, I have to admit, Transformers was never my thing. So if you looked at those names and images and drew a complete blank, don’t worry! I’ve got you covered.

Transformers Hot Rod

Hot Rod was first introduced in the animated Transformers movie. He is often described as both headstrong and brash, but with the death of Optimus Prime, Hot Rod was chosen by the Autobot Matrix of Leadership to be the next leader of the Autobots and became known as Rodimus Prime. His inclusion as a new character would normally suggest that Optimus Prime could be at risk in the new movie, but honestly, what Transformers movie hasn’t killed Optimus Prime at some point in their run time? Dude is harder to kill than Wesley from The Princess Bride.

Transformers Drift

While the backstory for every Transformer changes slightly based on the medium he appears in, Drift appears to be one of the few Transformers geared more towards non-violent conflict. Trained by the Decepticons to hunt Autobots, Drift abandons his training when he realizes the atrocities that he has helped commit and finds his peace while training in a non-lethal form of Transformer martial arts in a smaller community. He is basically the Transformer version of a Ronin, a samurai without a master.

And finally, there is Sqweeks. Not much is known about Sqweeks since he is the first original character to be debuted in the live-action Transformers movie franchise. But look at how cute! It’s like Michael Bay decided to bring WALL-E into the Transformers universe!

Transformers: The Last Knight will hit theaters on June 23, 2017.
