We all know the Cameron Peak Fire and other wildfires burning throughout Colorado are in desperate need of some snowfall.

Luckily,  some of those prayers and wishes could be answered later this week.

The National Weather Service is forecasting chances of rain and snow to possibly fall on Thursday night.

The early forecast also suggests chances of snow on Saturday, Sunday and Monday of next week.

Here's the upcoming forecast NWS forecast for the Fort Collins area:

Tuesday, Oct. 20:

  • High near 70, low around 35
  • Mostly sunny
  • Wind gusts up tp 16 mph in the evening

Wednesday, Oct. 21:

  • High near 67, low around 39
  • Mostly sunny
  • 6 mph calm wind in the evening

Thursday, Oct. 22:

  • High near 56, low around 23
  • 20% chance of rain after noon
  • Blustery with a 30% chance or snow after 7 pm.

Friday, Oct. 23:

  • High near 41, low around 23
  • Partly sunny

Saturday, Oct. 24:

  • High near 53, low around 23
  • Partly sunny
  • Chance of rain and snow in the evening

Sunday, Oct. 25:

  • High around 38, low around 18
  • Chance of snow, mostly cloudy
