Blink and You Might Miss It: The Tiny Colorado Town of Pea Green
Pea Green is such a teeny, tiny Colorado town that if you blink, you might just miss it. Here's what and where you can find Pea Green in Western Colorado.
The town of Pea Green is in Montrose County, between Delta and Olathe and is 5,307 feet in elevation. It's a farming and ranching town, with Olathe sweet corn everywhere.
The town got its name from this schoolhouse, which was built in 1912. First grade through the twelfth grade were all taught in this school. This school closed in 1968 and was used as a store and restaurant for a while.
The Community Center
Pea Green's community center was built in 1927 and is on the National Register of Historic Places. Weddings and other social gatherings are still held here. There's currently the Pea Green Saturday concert series and it even has a Facebook page.
