Blackpink Is the First K-Pop Group to Reach One Billion Views on YouTube
Blackpink has become the first K-pop group to score a billion YouTube views.
On Monday (November 8), it was revealed the group — consisting of members Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa — made history yet again after their "DDU-DU DDU-DU" music video, which premiered on June 15, 2018, officially entered the one billion views club.
“I can confirm that this is the first K-pop group to reach one billion, but not [the] first K-pop artist,” a rep told Billboard, adding that PSY is the only other Korean act to achieve this milestone with "Gangnam Style" and "Gentleman."
The group's label, YG Entertainment, shared the exciting news via Twitter:

The group just keeps breaking records as they're the highest-charting female K-pop act on the Billboard 200 and the Billboard Hot 100 with their Kill This Love EP and its title track, which peaked at No. 24 and No. 41, respectively. Blackpink also made history this summer as the first K-pop girl group to perform at Coachella.
But that's not all! They even took home three awards the 2019 E! People’s Choice Awards. The ladies were crowned the winners of all three categories they were nominated for — The Group of 2019, The Music Video of 2019 with Kill This Love and The Concert Tour of 2019 with their recent BLACKPINK 2019 World Tour.
