This past weekend was gorgeous in Western Colorado, while at times the wind was really blowing, the sun was shining. It was a perfect opportunity to work on some chores outside or blow off the work and go have some fun. Even on Friday (April 23rd), it was so nice outside which made people hit the trails with so many beautiful destinations to choose from around us. But unfortunately, the weather also brought out some thieves to the Palisade area that took an expensive mountain bike that now has a $1,000 reward offered for its return.

I'm not a mountain biker but I hate thieves in our community so I wanted to help spread the word as the details hit social media over the weekend. The man who has his bike stolen was Paul and he had his vehicle parked at the BaseCamp RV Resort in Palisade. And the person or people responsible did have to cut locks to take this bike.

More Details About Where the Theft Took Place

Through social media, it sounds like the bike was taken in the campgrounds area, not the overflow parking lot that is sometimes used when the trails are busy. Obviously, thousands of people use the BaseCamp RV Resort weekly and the staff do the best they can to keep an eye on everything, but it's difficult to catch every criminal.
