I grew up in the late 80s, which meant that I grew up believing that pizza not only could heal you but give you super powers and mushrooms could make you grow bigger, etc. Ok, so maybe I still like to believe that pizza gives me super powers! That's why I compiled this list of the best places for pizza in Grand Junction.

1. Nick N Willy's Pizza

If you're planning on a personal sized pizza, this is the place to be! Nick N Willy's has an oven on site to speedily cook your personal pizza right in front of you. Simply place your order and in a few minutes you have a steaming hot pie ready for your dining pleasure. They also have great take-n-bake options, in case you're throwing a party. They have a pretty large selection of unique and different flavor combos as well. Definitely one of my frequent pizza hot spots.

2. Pablo's Pizza

Pablo's has some of the craziest, but tastiest combinations and pizza creations this side of Colorado. They have a location downtown on 3rd and Main street, and a location in Fruita, Colorado. Everything from Peanut Butter and Jelly Pizza, or Mac n Cheese Pizza, to Pizza Creations like Dracula's Nemesis and Unicorn Force, this place would be the Ninja Turtle's favorite hangout!

3. Junction Square Pizza

Junction Square serves a stellar deep dish pizza, and they have great deals on large pizzas for parties and events. They're located downtown just off of 7th and Main Street. In addition to the classic pizza options, they also have a fantastic antipasto salad and homemade Italian dressing. That salad is seriously so addicting, I swear they must put crack in that sucker!

4. The Rockslide's "Duck Pizza"

Although they are more known for their microbrews, the Rockslide has a really interesting, and delicious Duck Pizza. It's a new addition to their new menu, and I wasn't sure I was going to like it, but if you're in the mood for something different I highly suggest you try it!

5. The Hot Tomato

So, these guys are technically located in Fruita, but it's still in the Grand Junction area, and it's definitely worth the 5-10 minute drive from Grand Junction, trust me. This locally owned pizza shop has some fantastic pies. During Palisade Peach season, they have a Palisade Peach Pizza with Canadian Bacon, we had no problem finishing the whole thing. In fact, there was nothing left on the platter.

6. Old Chicago

Ok, so maybe this isn't a locally owned establishment, but you can't talk about pizza in Grand Junction without mentioning Old Chicago. I used to work from coffee shops, but I've started spending more time here because they always have new pizza's to choose from. Not to mention their extensive beer collection, if you're looking for some quality pie in Grand Junction, I highly suggest you cruise by Old Chicago.

7. The Alehouse

This is another staple in my pizza power lifestyle because I'll just be honest, I've never ever had a bad pizza at this place (and I'm pretty picky about my pizza). The Alehouse has awesome, giant pizzas and they have a ton of different choices too. In the summer you can chow down on their super awesome back patio, you'll love it, trust me.
