The exact number of Marvel characters who will appear in Avengers: Infinity War remains a topic of great speculation, and surely will be until the movie opens and someone sits there in the theater with a pen and paper, counting each hero and villain who appears in what will almost certainly be the most heavily populated comic-book movie in history.

Just how heavily populated? Scarlett Johansson was recently on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to promote her new movie Rough Night, where the (famously comic-book-loving) host pressed her for some kind of tease of the upcoming Avengers sequels. After briefly demuring, Johnasson did confirm that, yes, she is in Infinity War (SHOCKER!) along with a whole mess of other marvelous people. She pegged the overall total at “61 or 62 Marvel characters.” And when Colbert incredulously asked if there were really 61 or 62 characters in one scene, she clarified that that was the characters in the entire movie; in one scene, there was “32 of us ... there’s a lot.”

Here’s the portion in question:

More than 30 Marvel characters in one freaking scene. Even if you add up every single Avenger and all the Guardians of the Galaxy that only gets you to about 20 people. And that seems like a lot right there! But then you add in Spider-Man and Doctor Strange and who knows who else. I just hope they don’t leave out Doctor Druid. He deserves his moment in the sun. Avengers: Infinity War and its dozens of characters debut in theaters on May 4, 2018. Less than a year awayyyyyy!
