Ariana Grande kicked off her Sweetener world tour last night (March 18) at the Times Union Center in Albany, New York. Though the pop star told fans during soundcheck that "Ghostin" and "Imagine" won't be part of her setlist because they're "too heavy" for her to perform right now, she honored her late ex-boyfriend Mac Miller in a different way. As fans were being ushered into their seats before her set, she gave a subtle yet touching tribute to the rapper by playing his music through the loud speakers, with "Dang!" being the last song to play before she took the stage.

Fans at the show took to Twitter to let the world know about Ari's gesture.

"Ariana grande is playing Mac Miller right before her opening song for sweetener tour rn and my heart can’t handle it SO MANY TEARS" one fan wrote. "Ariana grande had Mac Miller’s music playing while people got into their seats for her concert" tweeted another with a series of crying emojis.

Though she didn't perform the thank u, next tracks she penned for Miller, the tour's opening night did not disappoint. An emotional Ari took to social media after the show to thank her supporters. "i really dunno what to say yet. for now, thank you will suffice. a dream come true typeeaa night. i love you. so much. thank you" she wrote alongside a live clip of "7 Rings." check out that post, along with others snippets of the night, below.
