Amputee Veteran Receives New, Specially Built Home in Montrose

Nicholas Morris is a retired Army veteran who just got hooked up with a specially built home in Montrose. The amputee veteran's new home has over 40 adaptations.

Thanks to Homes for our Troops, this veteran in Montrose has a brand new home. Homes for our Troops donates specially built home for injured veterans.

According to KJCT, retired Lieutenant Nicholas Morris was severely injured while serving in Afghanistan when his vehicle hit an explosive pressure plate. His right leg was eventually amputated.

Nick's new house has over 40 adaptations including:

• Wider doorways
• Roll-in shower
• Custom cabinets
• Lowered countertops

Nick says he's he can't walk three miles without feeling pain, so it's great that his new place is completely wheelchair accessible. He says looking forward to the freedom of his new house -- and not having to worry about falling down anymore.
