Amber Alert Issued for 10-Year-Old Thornton Girl

An AMBER Alert was issued Thursday (June 8) for a 10-year-old Thorton, Colo. girl who went missing during a rain storm.

While walking to a shopping center in Thorton, 10-year-old Kiaya Campbell and a 15-year-old acquaintance became separated during a rain storm around 7 p.m. Kiaya was last seen near 139th and Colorado in Thorton.

Police and search and rescue were called around midnight, but couldn't find any sign of Campbell.

Last seen wearing blue pants, an orange Broncos shirt and carrying a black backpack with a gray/white camouflage pattern. Campbell is 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighs 150 pounds and has brownish-blond hair and blue eyes.
