An absolutely adorable stray dog has been found at the top of Rabbits Ear Pass. The Routt County Humane Society is on the search for this mini Aussie's owner.

Now, this dog is one Colorado cutie. Someone was driving by and saw a male mini Australian Shepherd wandering around the turnoff for Dumont Lake at the top of Rabbits Ear Pass near Steamboat Springs, according to the Steamboat Pilot.

The person took the dog to the Routt County Humane Society to hopefully find its owner. The poor dog was found extremely emaciated and appeared to be lost for several days, according to the Steamboat Pilot.

The Routt Humane Society has posted on their Facebook and in the local paper to try to reunite the dog with its owner. Unfortunately, the dog was found with no tags or microchip. He's brown and white with brown freckles on his nose. He's about 20 pounds, is friendly and appears to be an indoor pet.

The dog's owner has until Friday to claim the dog and must provide identification and proof of ownership. If the dog isn't claimed, he'll go up for adoption.

I have no doubt that this dog will find a good home if his owners don't find him, considering the internet is in love with the dog and lots and lots of people have offered to adopt him. It's extremely important to microchip your pets because if they do get lost, they can make their way home if they're microchipped.
