Becoming an astronaut is always one dream every boy and girl wishes would come true. When 7-year-old Dexter decided he wanted to go on a mission to Mars, he sent a letter to NASA. NASA's reply was awesomely unexpected.

Dexter's dream to explore the final frontier and become an astronaut may seem like he has his head in the clouds, but his enthusiasm and desire caught the attention of NASA!

Dexter wrote a letter to NASA with interest in hitching a ride to Mars, explaining how much he'd like to become an astronaut. In his letter he wrote:

My name is Dexter, I heard that you are one (sic) sending 2 people to Mars and I would liek to come but I'm 7. So I can't. I would like to come in the future. What would I have need (sic) to do to become an astronaut?

Thank You, Dexter

NASA unexpectedly responded to Dexter's letter thanking him for his interest! Good to see a government agency supporting a youth's dream. Along with a letter, NASA also sent along pictures of Mars, the Mars Curiosity rover, a sticker and book mark.
