Vacations are always a great way to cut loose and relax, and maybe see some things you don’t normally get to see. However, vacations can be expensive, and it can be inconvenient to be so far from home. You should consider taking a Grand Junction Staycation this summer, here are some ways you can do that.

You’ll Need To Sleep

There are some great hotels in the area with pretty competitive rates and great accommodations. I tend to prefer The Springhill Suites, La Quinta, and The Doubletree. If you want to go more local, the Historic Melrose Hotel downtown is also pretty cool. In addition, the Fruita State Park has some great camping spots. You could always stay at home, and use your “out-of-the-office) email alert, and shut your phone off, too.

Food, You’re Going To Want Food

You’re on staycation, so go to eat somewhere that you don’t normally get to go. I suggest Bin 707, The Winery, Suehiro, or maybe try Pablo’s Pizza. Once again, you could totally plan ahead to eat from home, that way your staycation doesn’t involve leaving your house.

Go Out To A Movie

There are some fun options here for your Grand Junction Staycation entertainment. You could go to the Regal Cinema, or Carmike Theater to see a movie. The drive-in theater in Delta is always a great time, as well. If you don’t want to leave the house at all, then I suggest Netflix or Hulu and chill.

Join The Grand Junction Night Life

Grand Junction is the largest city between Denver and Salt Lake, and we do have a fairly decent nightlife. There is something going on, just about every night in Grand Junction. Some of the hot spots to check out are The Rockslide, The Alehouse, The Warehouse, Thunderstruck Valley, and The Wine Country Inn.

Drink and Paint

You’re on staycation, you should go and have some fun, and do something different. Check out The Palette, downtown. You can drink some of your favorite beer, or wine while learning how to paint a fun and beautiful painting. It’s a great date night or just a good time to cut loose and explore your creative side.

If you need a getaway this summer, I hope you’ll consider a Grand Junction Staycation. It’s more affordable, closer to home, and there is so much you can do here.
