5 Reasons to Make The Grand Mesa a Travel Destination
This weekend I took everyone's advice about going to the Grand Mesa. My friends were absolutely correct when they told me that there was so much to see, and it would be something that I would enjoy. Here are my five reasons why you should take a trip to the Grand Mesa!
1. The view! From the top of the Grand Mesa, you can take in some of the most breathtaking sites! For miles around you can take in the beauty of the Western Slope and all the best the National Forest has to offer.
2. Ponds and Lakes- I ran across some of the most picturesque places, and even better, watched the wildlife enjoy the beauty of the water.
3. Fishing!- I took a few hours, grabbed a spot and cast out the line! Trout were the game plan for this fisherman! (I caught one)
4. The "Grand Mesa Welcome Center" I stopped in, just to see what the Welcome Center had to offer, and by the time I left, I had 2 bags of great gifts, maps, and swag that I could share with family and friends. If you ever have an opportunity to stop in and say hello, please do! They have the friendliest folks to show you around and make sure to ask to see the 3D area map! Stunning
5. Changing of the seasons! Yes, as you can see in my photos when I arrived near the top of the Mesa, there was still a lot of snow! It made for a perfect day, the coolness of the snow, yet the sunshine keeping you at the right temperature.
I know there are tons of things I have left to see, and I can say without a doubt that I will be going back to The Grand Mesa.
