Every year there are certain traditions around the holidays that we stick to. Whether it's putting up your Christmas tree, setting out cookies & milk for Santa, or whatever it might be. It's interesting to see the history on why we do the things we do.

The only one they didn't cover (unless they did and I didn't see it) was why we put up lights on our houses. I'd like to know the history on that. What's your favorite tradition that you stick to every year? Anything you can't live without?
