You Can Rent Adventure Gear From CMUs Outdoor Program, And It's Awesome!

One of the best parts about living in Grand Junction is that there is so much adventure right at our back door. We have enough outdoor activities at our fingertips to keep us busy for the rest of our lives. However, quality gear is expensive, and not everyone can afford it. When you can't afford the gear, it's kind of hard to go adventuring.

Well, Colorado Mesa University has the solution. The Outdoor Program at CMU offers gear rental, for just about every adventure sport you can imagine. My kids and I rented an inflatable paddle board the other day, and it was affordable and awesome. They rented us the paddles, the paddle board, life vests, pump, and carry bag, for less than an expensive dinner date would cost.

Here is some of the gear you can rent from the CMU Outdoor Program:

Backpacking Gear

This Includes the backpack, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, trekking poles, tents, cooking stoves, cooking utensils, and chairs. So, basically, everything you need for a camping/backpacking trip, for around $40 per day (for everything). You couldn't get that gear for that price anywhere else!

Camping Gear

If you need a more extensive camping package, they've got a full camping package. The package includes the "Kitchen Box" which includes a dry box, two burner stove, roll table, lantern, kitchen utensil kit, place setting, large pot, frying pan, mixing bowl, large raft cooler, camp cooler, camp chair, dutch oven, 5 gallon water container, a fire pan, and a groover toilet.
