Grand Junction's brand new amphitheater is open and ready to start hosting concerts and events, but, where are you going to park once you get there?

Parking at Grand Junction events is always challenging, especially when they are held at Lincoln Park. For many years, Grand Junction has enjoyed free parking at most events, but that may be changing.

At the amphitheater at Las Colonias Park, there will be several different parking options, some of which will involve paying to park, while others involve walking some distance to the venue.

.What we know for sure is that most events at the amphitheater will have pay-to-park in place.

Generally, the parking lots east of the venue, both asphalt and native will require a fee. Nearby property owners may also offer to park for a fee.

Free parking includes the area on Struthers near the Botanical Gardens, though these lots have somewhat limited availability. It will be about a five-minute walk to the venue. For those that aren't opposed to walking about a mile, free parking options include Eagle Rim Park and downtown Grand Junction.

Carpooling with friends might be a good option - and share the parking fee.

Regardless of which parking option you choose, you will want to arrive as early as possible for the best selection. The 646 available parking spaces will be first come, first served, and in many cases will fill up fast.
